AV Specialists, the Cape-based importer/distributor of leading Audio and Video brands, is proud to announce the acquisition of Key Digital's HDMI Cables for distribution in South Africa.

Founded by Mike Tsinberg in 1999, Key Digital is one of the pioneering companies of the latest in video technology. As HDMI has been at the heart of all things digital since its introduction in 2003, it made sense for Key Digital to apply their expertise to HDMI cables.

AV Specialists, once the Audio Quest International Distributor of the Year, has chosen Key Digital as their new partner in order to address what has become for many a troublesome area in the market. "In theory HDMI has been touted as the perfect connector. In reality and practise however, many consumers, custom installers and dealers have been stung by what I call the 'HDMI gorilla' - mainly due to a lack of knowledge and also due to manufacturers cutting corners and claiming standards that their products do not meet", says Francois van Rooyen of AVS. The "play safe" can be used in all applications of HDMI cable with the highest possible specification.

With Key Digital the solution is simple: All their cables meet the highest possible specification and standards of construction. Even with the HDMI 1.4 standard there are five different industry approved versions. Only the latter two highest specification versions are suitable for 1080p and the HD Audio codecs. Each Key Digital HDMI cable has an individual serial number and is supplied with a certificate of compliance. Another useful feature is that the cable is packed in a no frills packaging - not wasting money on fancy packaging, but spending it on where it counts - the contents.
